The Social Service Intern assist the Property Managers and Case Managers in addressing the physical, psychological, and social needs of their clients . The Social Service Intern assists in the evaluation of the resident family household, identifies areas of need and provides direction to social services that will enable the resident to improve their quality of life. Additional responsibilities include coordinating resident activities, both social and educational at the various sites.
The intern will evaluate the residents home environment, collect information concerning family background, and assess the resident information to assist the client to achieve self-sufficiency. Schedule appointments as needed. Serve as advisor for all residents and their families involved in or residing at our GMAHA properties. Create and present programs and activities, which will be structured to provide the resident with opportunities to become active and creative. Programs will be tailored around the residents interest and limitations.
